Season Overview

The 2010 lacrosse season will consist of 16 games with an even number of games played at home and away.  Conditioning begins in January with practice officially staring in early February.  Games will be played during the months of March and April with finals and State championship games played in May.

Player Team Participation

Butler fields both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams.  Tryouts are required to make the Varsity team.  Player participation does not guarantee game playing time.  Charlotte High School lacrosse is not a recreational program where players are provided with equal playing time.  These programs are highly competitive, and play to win. Therefore, those players that demonstrate the greatest competitive ability, in addition to meeting all other team and coach requirements, will obtain the most amount of game playing time.

Miscellaneous Details

·   Player/Parent funded dues is required.

·   Dues are $325 for the 2010 season.

·   Equipment is not provided by the Booster Club.

·   The club provides jerseys and shorts. 

·   CMS participation forms and physicals are required.

·   Proof of district (residential) eligibility is required.

·   Players are required to maintain a 2.0 or greater GPA. 

·  In the event practice is held off school property, players/parents are responsible for transportation.

Note: Practice was not held on school property during the 2009 season and started at 3:30 and finished at 6:00.

Required Lacrosse Equipment

The club provides home and away jerseys and game shorts.  Team colors are Red /Black

Players are required to provide the following equipment:

·      Stick – (head /shaft) Many different brands and styles(good start up stick is a Brine Edge w/aluminum shaft).

·      Helmet – Cascade brand is excellent (Must be Black).

·      Shoulder pads – any type (team colors).

·      Gloves – Any type (team colors).

·      Elbow Pads – Any type (team colors).

·      Cleats – Any type of lacrosse, soccer or football cleat, but no metal spikes (team colors).

·      Athletic Support with Cup

·      Rib Pads(optional)

·      Mouthpiece(2)
